Kidberry LLC (“Kidberry,” “we,” “us”) makes a coding course called Python Code Quest for children. This page explains, in plain language, what information we do and don't handle. We wrote it for the grown-up making the decision.
What runs on your device
The lessons run entirely inside your child's web browser. When your child collects gems or finishes a lesson, that progress is saved locally on your own device (using your browser's storage) — it is not sent to us, and we can't see it. Clearing your browser data clears that progress.
To run real Python in the browser, the lessons load a free, widely-used open-source tool (Pyodide) from a public code network. That's a standard file download, like loading any web page — it isn't a profile of your child.
What we don't do
- No chat, messaging, or social features. Your child can't contact anyone, and no one can contact them.
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No account, login, or personal details required to try or use the course.
- We don't ask children for their name, age, email, photo, or location. (If a child types their name onto the printable certificate, that stays on your device and is never sent to us.)
Cookies and analytics
We aim to keep Kidberry as clean as possible. If we use website analytics, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless service that measures general traffic (like how many people visited a page) without identifying your child or building an advertising profile.
If you buy Kidberry
Purchases are handled by Gumroad, a trusted third-party payment provider that acts as the seller of record. When you buy, your email and payment details go to them to process the order and send your access — we don't see or store your card number. Their handling of your information is covered by their own privacy policy.
If you join our email list
If you choose to give us your email — for the free lesson or product news — we use it only to send you those things, through an email service. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email, and we won't sell or rent your address.
Children's privacy
Kidberry is meant to be purchased and set up by a parent or teacher. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the course needs no account and asks children for nothing, there is normally no child personal information for us to collect.
We've designed Kidberry with children's privacy rules in mind, including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Canada's PIPEDA, and the UK/EU approach to children's data. If you ever believe a child has provided us personal information, email us and we'll delete it promptly.
Your choices
You can use the free lesson without giving us anything. You can clear saved progress any time by clearing your browser's site data. You can unsubscribe from email any time. And you can email us to ask what (if anything) we hold about you, or to have it deleted.
Changes to this promise
If we change how Kidberry handles information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll do our best to tell email subscribers.
